Puppy and Kitten Wellness Information
Puppy
Welcome to our hospital. We are devoted to helping your puppy stay as active and vibrant as the day you fell in love with the newest member of your family. There are several needs we will address during his or her first 6 months with you. The program will be individualized to your puppies individual needs.
1st step (when first home approximately 6-8 weeks old) Physical examination, deworm for roundworms, fecal analysis for any intestinal parasites, any indicated vaccine(s)- usually DHPP vaccine. Discuss housetraining, crate training and discuss nutrition/feeding. Send home Puppy Care Book. Housetraining bell. You will be sent home with heartworm/intestinal parasite control (to be given in 2 weeks) and flea control.
2nd step (3-4 weeks later at approximately 11-12 weeks of age) Physical examination, deworm, DHPP vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, Lepto vaccine if indicated. Discuss toenail care and alternatives, discuss basic training and behavior. Heartworm/intestinal parasite control and flea control. Basic grooming techniques discussed.
3rd step (3 weeks later at 15-16 weeks of age) Physical examination, fecal exam, DHPP vaccination, Rabies vaccination, Lepto vaccine. Discuss puppy socialization sessions. Discuss any issues with housebreaking, training, grooming and/or behavior as needed. Heartworm preventative and flea control.
4th step (3-4 weeks later approximately 5 months old) Physical exam, possible DHPP vaccination depending on prior vaccines and pet needs. Check teeth, check weight. Discuss dental care and products. Spay/Neuter, permanent identification with Avid microchip. Cost varies with services and size of pup. Heartworm preventative and flea control will be sent home.
This encompasses the basic first 5 months of wellness care of your pet. Package may be adjusted as determined for individual needs. This package does not cover products purchased, diagnostics, treatment or care for sick or injured pets.
We believe in keeping puppies happy to visit us, we use treats, kindness and sweet-talking to make these visits happy occasions for you and your pet. We encourage you to let us help you with all your puppy's needs, including behavior or training problems you may be having.

Kitten
Welcome to our hospital. We are devoted to helping your puppy stay as active and vibrant as the day you fell in love with the newest member of your family. There are several needs we will address during his or her first 6 months with you. The program will be individualized to your kittens individual needs.
1st step (7-8 weeks of age) Physical examination, FELV/FIV Test, deworm for roundworms, fecal analysis for any other intestinal parasites, 1st FVRCP vaccination. Flea control sent home or applied. Send kitten information.
2nd step (3-4 weeks later at approximately 11-12 weeks of age) Physical examination, deworm, 2nd FVRCP, 1st FELV vaccination, discuss basic training and behavior. Flea control sent home.
3rd step (3-4 weeks later at approximately 15-16 weeks of age) Physical examination, deworn 2nd FELV vaccination, Rabies vaccination, discuss basic grooming needs and dental care.
4th step (4 1/2 to 5 months of age) Spay/Neuter, repeat fecal flotation examination and deworming if needed. Permanent identification with AVID microchip. Cost varies.
